Firstly, RGBIC is the (current) future. Choose this over RGB every. time.
If you don't have the money for LIFX (or don't have the patience / perseverance for their terrible tech issues) this is a good contender for a tiny fraction of the price. If you haven't tried LIFX, and it's vibrance, colours and slick effects you're after, check out the LIFX strips. Best quality as a ready to use product. Obviously this Lepro isn't SMART but that is an option for just over £20.
Phillips hue? Over it. If you're boring and want generic house lighting with no fun options and simple, colour schemes then fine, but i'm all for the bold colours and effects.
I haven't tried the GOVEE RGBIC, I'm sure it's just as good maybe better, but the LEPRO 5m RGBIC at £16 (I just saved £3 with amazon promotion) there's no argument.
For me, I like the simplicity of a remote (I have a lot of lights), I think you may have more options with the smart app based control. For a small remote it has a lot of options, different modes (6 modes which you can have both in multicolour or as a single colour, so that's much more than 6 modes as far as I'm concerned), good brightness adjustment and overall great for unique effects.
I am so OVER the limited gradual, fade, flash strobe options you have on some basic, cheap rgb strips, and this strip is refreshing in its options.
I also love how you can change the speed. Caution - If speed is (+) all the way you could trigger epilepsy so be weary of this.
The colours are really deep, much deeper than GOVEE, Philips.
These are waterproof (i'm 99% sure) as well, so not flimsy like the garbage you can end up buying on here.
Only complaint is the remote is a bit delicate. Don't hold buttons down to long and use quick, gentle button presses or it seems to get confused. But still rate it 5* given the price.
