What is Glucosamine Sulphate?
Glucosamine provides the major building block for cartilage and joint tissue. It helps to make up the liquid that surrounds the joints, allowing them to move and function normally.

It is often taken as a supplement as there are limited natural sources of glucosamine in food. There are several forms of Glucosamine, including Glucosamine Sulfate, Glucosamine Hydrochloride (HCl) and N-acetyl Glucosamine. These may be in liquid or powder form, and are commonly given in powder form to pets such as horses, cats & dogs, or as an effervescent, tablet or capsule for adult humans. It can also be applied topically to the skin in a gel or cream form directly to joints, such as the knee.

After getting through several tubs of lower-dose tablets, I got these higher-dose ones for a similar price. Bargain, I thought. Well, they are, but they are BIG. I don't usually have a problem swallowing tablets, but these I struggle with, even if I break them in two (which is easy to do). The photo shows the size difference betwee these and the old one, with a 1p coin for reference.In conjunction with turmeric tablets, I've been taking glucosamine for maybe a year now and I *think* they have helped since I noticed the start of some arthritis in my fingers. I used to have pain quite regularly and this has stopped.In future I'll go back to my other brand.

    I've been using glucosamine for years after being recommended to by a doctor as I have arthritis. I've used many different brands and always go for a high strength as I was told to. These tablets seem to work as well as any others that I have tried and the price is great for the amount you get. They are quite big though and can sometimes be hars to swallow.
