About this item

Strong Versatility: The side handle can be adapted to two 1/4"-20 threaded holes with a spacing of 18mm. It is designed to assist camera movement, enhance the stability of handheld mobile shooting, and provide mounting points. NOTE: The maximum load is 15kg.
Ergonomic Design: The side handgrip is designed according to the shape of the hand when held. The handle can be adjusted up and down by 36 mm (1.42 inches), allowing you to adjust to the best holding position according to the size of the camera, providing a comfortable shooting experience.
Sturdy and Durable: The main body of the handle is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, the two 1/4"-20 screws are made of stainless steel, and the palm contact surface is made of non-slip silicone, which is non-slip, anti-freeze and durable.
Left and Right Hands Available: The aluminum handle can switch between left and right hand. If you want to use it on the other side of the cage, just remove the connecting part of the handle and change the direction. The built-in magnetic hex wrench at the bottom makes it easy to adjust the connecting part.
Multiple Mounting Options: Built-in various accessories installation points, such as 1/4"-20 locating hole, 1/4"-20 threaded hole, wrist strap hole, cold shoe, etc., which can attach monitor mount 2905B, magic arm 3873, led video light 3286B, microphone 3468 and other accessories.

It does the job perfectly, especially when you grab 1/4 20 screw adapters with it so you can put multiple items on it.

But putting it on or off can be a pain in the ass.

Especially when working professionally, it's added stress and can waste precious time. I also lost one of the screws and they don't resell them unless you buy a whole pack of different sizes.

If you never plan on taking it off, well worth. But now I'm just gonna use it as a grip for holding microphones.

Not compatible with SmallRig's own NATO rail on GH5 cage

I had to return this handle as it is not compatible with the NATO rail on SmallRig's own cage for Panasonic GH5. The clamp will attach to the cage rail, but it does not lock fully. You have to keep your thumb on the locking lever to prevent the handle from detaching itself from the rail. I am giving this a one-star review as it is SmallRig's responsibility to make clear which camera cages this handle is compatible with, especially the cages which they themselves produce. It is not good enough to simply state that this handle is "compatible with standard NATO rail", and then leave it to the customer to find out. The consequences of a poorly fitting handle could be catastrophic for your equipment. In addition, even if it had attached fully to the cage, I have my doubts about how robust this handle is, and about it's general load-bearing capacity. It may suit smaller cameras with audio recorder and shotgun mic mounted on them, but others will have to find out the hard way. This is an expensive handle, and the bother of going through this charade and having to repackage and go down to the post office to return it has put me right off.
